[WB550] Experiencing WB550 - a Bright Friend of Yours

Cause I like to take photos, a chance came to me that I can play with Samsung WB550 digital camera for a while.
Pretty long time, I have not used any snap sized digital camera.

To share my expreience, here I post how I played with this guy and what I thought about this guy.
Rather than long text, I'd like to share those photos that could tell what I want to tell.

24mm Wide Angle for your traveling

24mm wide angle is not a common specification among snap digital cameras.
If you want to enjoy this focal length, usually you need to be euqipped with so-called Full-body of DSLR and 24mm lens,
or Crop-Body of DSLR and around 10mm lens. Of course, either of any cases, it will cost more than WB550 price.

Basically 24mm wide angel enbles to put MORE subjects into one frame.
Inevitably there will happen somehow distortion effect of original image.

24mm wide angle with MACRO mode

In personal opinion, 24mm wide angle lens with MACRO mode(5cm focusing distance)
enables you to record easily memorable food and dish.
If you are a blogger who post lots of food taste story or a food introducer,
this guy - WB550 - could be one of good solution for your internet life.

Moreover, to take good a photo of food, it's important to maintain and output "White Balance".
In short, white balance could affect generally on color of food.
WB550 is good at producing pretty well balanced white color,
which means "the color of photo is almost same as the color that your eyes see" in most of situations.

Amazing! It's 48 HKD including fruit salad & daily soup!...

As I shortly mentioned, 24mm wide angle produce wider and deeper image of photo.
Try to look at this world in 24mm wide angle!

Special Features

Actually there are lots of special features on WB550 machine though,
I just tried part of those fun. One unique feature is Beauty Shot mode, you can easily select this mode by jog dial button.

It seems that this Beauty Shot effect makes your face look silky, smooth, clean and white.
I guess especially ladies will like this feature. :)

X5 Optical Zoom, Any Time Any Distance, Your Snap Shot

Anytime, in any distance, X5 optical zoom lens can make any shot as you like.
In your usual life, you can stop the moment and restore the moment to share.

This one was taken in a dark room, there was almost no light.
Later when I open this file on computer, this quality of picture surprised me!

As a all-the-time-use snap camera, WB550 has one weak point.
The depth of body is not slim enough. When you put it into your jean pocket, you would feel uncomfortable a bit.
I heard that much slimmer WB1000 model will come out soon.
Hope it can maintain the quality of WB550 at least, with sleek & sexy designed body.

HD Quality, Movie Taking!

WB550 enables HD quality video recording, which is 1080i or 720p at maximum with 30Hz.
Well, this is not perfectly equal to HD quality though, as a snap digital camera, it's one of the highest video quality.
Sometimes video can deliver more than photos.
