2002년 월드컵 직후 여름, 배낭을 둘러매고 캐나다 토론토를 향했다. 처음 배낭 여행인데 캐나다 토론토라니, 나 자신도 신기해하고 주위 사람들도 묻고.... 이유는 사람들이었다. 캐나다 토론토와 몬트리올에 만나고 싶은 이들이 있으니 젊은 혈기에 어디를 못가랴. 이 때가 북미 대륙을 처음 본 때 인데, 대 자연의 축복을 받은 북미 대륙의 환경에 크게 감흥받았던 기억이 생생하다. 카메라가 없어, '반역자원봉사' 모임의 동생 K군에게 올림푸스 수동카메라를 빌렸다. 캐나다 토론토 미시사가 호수 노을 한국에서 보지 못하던 정말 '오렌지' 색 노을에 압도당했던 기억...... 이 때 들었던 생각이 이렇게 평화로울 수가....... 였다. 일년에 한두달 정도는 그냥 이 호수변에 앉아 책보고, 음악듣고, 노을 보며..

It's year 2002 that I've visited HK at first time. So many things has been changed and happened. Had the best moments of my life at times..... 2002년 8월1일로 기억되는 첫 번째 홍콩 방문....... 이후로 2007년 들어와 거주하기 전까지 대략 60-70여번은 들락거렸던 홍콩...... 제 2의 고향이 되어가고 있는 홍콩...... 잠시 돌아본다....... IFC2 빌딩이 아직 공사중인 홍콩 전경이 오히려 지금은 어색해 졌다는.... 완챠이 전경. NEC와 그 옆 간판까지 허물어서 지금은 그 자리에 Samsung 광고판이 들어서 있다는..... 조금 왼쪽으로 앵글을 돌린 완차이 전경...

사는 동네가 이 곳 Causeway Bay이니, 거닐고 또 거닐 수 밖에 없는 구조다...... (ㅡ.ㅡ;) SOGO 백화점 앞 횡단보도에서...... 홍콩 사람들...... 사람들...... 지금 당신에게 2% 부족한 것은 무엇.......... (참고로 2%는 홍콩의 옷 브랜드 중 하나.....)
