이 곳에 대한 정보는 별로 없었다. 아니 지금도 별로 없다. 홍콩섬을 횡단하는 하이웨이길에 항상 보이고, 사람들이 맛있다고 하는 말들을 자주 들은 정도.... 듣자 하니, 미국에는 곳곳에 있다고 하는 것 같다. 실상 어디에 어떻게 있는 지도 잘 모른다. 오늘 후루룩 훑고 지나갈 곳은 바로 홍콩섬 깜종(金鐘, Admiralty)에 위치한 Ruth's Chris Steak House. 벌써 이름만 들어도 스테이크 전문인지는 알겠고, 얼마나 스테이크 분야의 프로 선수인지 먹어보고 볼 일이다. 홍콩에는 디저트 문화도 많다. 홍콩식 디저트, 일본식, 타이완식, 서양 스타일 등등..... 더운 여름에는 한국식 팥빙수가 좀 있었으면 하는 바램도 있으나, 아직 제대로 된 팥빙수는 없다는..... 각설하고 외국인들이 몰리는 센트럴 Soho에 한켠에는 작은 Sift 라는 디저트 가게가 있다. 맞은편에는 Chilly Fagara 라고 하는 (보아하니 한국의 홍콩 여행 책자에도 자주 나오는 것 같더군요) 유명한 퓨전 사천 요리 집이 있다. 다음에는 그 집에 가서 사진 좀 찍어와야 겠네요. 너무 좋아하는 요리가 하나 있어서...... 다시 각설하고, 이 Sift라는 집은 간단한 디저트용 음료 및 각 종 디저트 케이크류를 판매한다. 아직까지 두세번 밖에 못가봐서, 많은 메뉴를 섭렵해 본 것은 아니지만, 최소한 ..

홍콩에 와보신 분들이라면 거리를 거닐다 어렵지 않게 작은 식당들 유리창에 각 종 고기들이 대롱대롱 메달려 있던 모습을 기억하실 것이다. 바로 홍콩식 바베큐인데, 보통 돼지고기, 닭고기, 거위, 오리 등등을 주로 재료로 한다. 그 중에 가장 일반적인 돼지고기BBQ를 '차슈(叉燒)'라고 하는데, 흰밥 위에 차슈를 얹고 소스를 일부 살짝 뿌려먹는 밥을 차슈Fan(飯)이라 한다. 눈치 빠른 분들은 홍콩 유명 딤섬 중에 차슈'빠오(包)'라는 겉보기에는 만두처럼 생긴 녀석이 있음을 아실 듯. 홍콩 완차이(Wan Chai) 에 있는 쿠마테이(熊亭, Kumatei)라는 일식집에서 J , K 님과 식사를 하였다. 정확히 얼마였는지는 기억이 가물가물 하지만, 일인당 300 HKD 정도를 내면 일정한 시간 동안 원하는 만큼 많은 종류의 음식을 먹을 수가 있었다. 메뉴는 주로 회, 초밥, 구이요리, 샐러드 등등 기본적인 사미미와 초밥을 사랑하는 분이라면 배고플 적에 시도하면 손해보지는 않을 그런 선택..........
